About machine knitting

(Domestic) machine knitting can be largely divided into single bed knitting and double bed knitting. On a single bed machine, there is one bed (a row) of knitting needles. On a double bed machine, there is two beds opposite of each other. These beds can collaborate to create e.g. ribbing, circular and other double-sided knits. Furthermore, each machine has a gauge, which refers to the spacing between the needles. The less space between the needles, the finer the knit.

This book lists a selection of sources on machine knitting. For each phase of your knit (casting on, knitting and binding off) this selection offers various techniques to help you get started and to inspire.
